ACTIVITY TWO

Daily 1-2-3

  1. Read the memory verse this week, pray to Jesus and ask him to give you an opportunity to tell someone about HIM. He will! AND and remember the Holy Spirit WILL help you!

  2. Strip pieces of paper into 1-2 inches pieces, put 1 or 2 words of the verse on each strip. Now make a chain with the strips with tape or stapling, putting the words of the verse in order. Once complete, read the verse 2 or more times. Hang your chain in a place to help you remember to read it and talk to Jesus every day.

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Daily 1-2-3

  1. Watch Lesson Video.

  2. Discuss the following questions: 

    • Who wrote the Book of Acts? (Luke)​

    • While the disciples were with Jesus what were they doing? (Soaking in everything He was telling them.)

    • 3. What was the tool/gift that Jesus promised to give His disciples? (The Holy Spirit)

    • Where did Jesus go after He left the Earth?  (Heaven)

    • When the disciples were gathered together in a room, what happened? (A rushing wind came in the room and tongues of fire appeared on everyone’s head.)

    • What was the wind and the tongues of fire? (The gift of the Holy Spirit.)

    • What were the disciples able to do after they had the Holy Spirit come upon them? (They were able to speak in different languages and everyone could understand them!)

  1. Pray, and tell the Holy Spirit He is welcome here! Let Him flood your heart and mind.

  2. Worship with these or other praise songs. 

  3. Set Act 2:4 to memory.

  1. Re-Read Acts 1:1-4, 9-10; Acts 2:1-12

  2. Watch video, "Acts of the Apostles: What is Pentecost" from What's in the Bible?

  3. Discuss the follow questions:

    • How may days after Jesus left the disciples did the disciples experience the Holy Spirit? (10 days)

    • How many days after Passover is the Jewish Holiday Pentecost? (50 days)

    • What does Pentecost mean? (50)

    • Note to Hillside kiddos from 1st hour: Remember the word "Penta" from Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible? How is the word Pentateuch and Pentecost similar?
