Dear Jesus, 

 

Thank you for being our Lord and Savior! Thank you for dying on the cross for our sins.  Thank you for sharing with us missionaries like Paul, who we can learn from. Today, show us that, through you, ALL things are possible. Bless our time together as we enter into your Word.  

 

In Jesus precious name,

  1. Watch Lesson Video.

  2. Discuss the following questions: 

    • What happened when Paul and Barnabas preached in the synagogue in Iconium? People believed in Jesus. But some people refused to believe and tried to stir up trouble for them.

    • Why did Paul and Barnabas leave Iconium? There was a plot to stone them. 

    • What happened when Paul met the crippled man in Lystra? Through Jesus' power, he healed the man. 

    • Who did the people of Lystra think that Paul and Barnabas were? They believed they where gods.

    • Why were the people who stoned Paul so intent on killing him? They did not want people learning about Jesus. 

  3. Coloring page and lesson extension ideas from "Bible Fun for Kids and More!".

2.  "The Arc" has coloring page for Matthew 19:26 that you will want to place on the wall when your child is finished.

1.  Read Acts 14 together. 

2.  Check out video, to review Act 13 & 14. 

3. Matthew 28:19-20 is our "umbrella verse" for this set of 8 lessons. Let's keep Jesus' words fresh in our hearts through the Great Commission video.  Our PARENT'S ONLY Page can also be viewed for extra talking points.

  1. Missionary Stories Re-aloud. Video.

  2. Question to go along with missionary story:

  • Why did Ato Desta ring the bell every morning? To let people know the hospital was open.

  • Why did Ato walk with a cane? He had been hurt by soldiers who wanted him to tell where his people were hiding.

  • What does the name Desta mean?  Happiness

  • Why did Ato stand at the gates of the hospital every morning? He wanted to share the love of Jesus with everyone who came through.

  • Why did the men not like Ato? Because he spoke of Jesus.

  • What did the boy warn Ato about? That men were planning to harm him.

  • What did Ato do when he walked home? He sang praises to the Lord.

  • What happened to the men when they tried to attack Ato? They couldn’t move or raise their weapons.

3. LOVE and TELL activity: One way, we can show others God’s love is by sending them cards of encouragement.  We would love to share with you the names and addresses of some people who we know would enjoy receiving cards, pictures or notes telling them that your family is praying for and thinking about them.  Please email Missy at mama-moose@outlook.com to receive a name and address.
